Model-driven approaches for designing and realizing solutions for processing information are becoming increasingly important. There is a growing need for knowledge in this area. Taxonic Academy meets this need, focusing specifically on Pega, Semantic technology and GO FAIR.

Semantics and interoperability

Our society has an increasing need for data. Many essential processes and developments cannot do without it. Combining data from different sources is costly, and these costs are increasing exponentially. The solution: interoperable data with the right semantics. We therefore see that Linked Data is on the rise, and that large quantities of semantic standards are emerging at the national, European and international level.
The big challenge for many organizations is to keep up with this trend. At the moment, this often fails because building up the necessary knowledge proves too difficult. Semantics and interoperability together form a vast landscape. It lacks usable maps.
Linked Data originated at the end of the 20th century. This has grown into a broad spectrum of standards, technologies and methods. There are hardly any resources available that take an interested professional into the complexity and coherence of it all. Many professionals who apply Linked Data have an incomplete view of the bigger picture.
On the semantics side, the situation is not much better. Current practice relies heavily on traditional methods such as Object-Oriented Analysis and Design. This leads to models that have limited value. There is a need for technology-agnostic ontologies that, independent of specific applications, provide a common language that is explicit, understandable, and logically consistent.
Contrary to popular belief, designing and constructing such ontologies is not an art, let alone a matter of taste. Rigorous, practically applicable methods are available, but are still too little known outside of academia.
There is, therefore, a great need for an integrated Semantics and interoperability course program. With the help of this program, professionals of all ages and backgrounds can build their knowledge step by step. This gives you a balanced view of all relevant aspects. No assumptions are made about previous knowledge. Anyone with basic grasp of working with data and basic skills in reading models can get started.
Taxonic was founded in 2012, the year that the first large-scale applications of Linked Data came to fruition. Since then developments have been rapid. Taxonic has grown along with it, and has also made an active, visible contribution to these developments by, among other things, organizing classroom courses, participating in projects, and being active in drawing up standards. The in-depth knowledge and experience that the Taxonic team has built up with this is now reflected in this course.

Pega

The Pega platform has become a worldwide standard within Business Process Management (BPM) and Dynamic Case Management. This increases the demand for certified Pega specialists. Our certified supervisors are working in the field and bridge the divide between theory and practice. You can count on them for the right advice and intensive guidance during your Pega certifications.
